Great food, not cheap though

Quite surprised to find an ice cream counter nearby when ordering duck pancake and coconut shrimp!! All of these items, though, were quite good, the ice cream very fresh. Ordered this for takeout, but I think I’d like it even more fresh from the kitchen.

High quality Ice cream. Very good Asian dishes moderate prices. Bright, pleasant, casual atmosphere. Their own parking lot in rear -- which is a big deal in Ridgewood.

I went here with one of my girl friends for a quick bite before going to Creatively Yours. The waiter was not pushy and understood that we needed time to review the menu but, after a bit, it seemed as though he forgot about us- we had to call his attention to us. When he did come back he was attentive and brought our food out expeditiously.I went back for a to go plate and although the kitchen was almost shut down, they prepared my order, with a smile and without protest. I'll be going back.

Staff is super friendly and the food is great for the price, large portions and a large selection to choose from. Take out orders are ready in 15 minutes for pick-up, just about always!

This place has been around forever,its still pretty good

Waitress was overwhelmed and, whilst working hard, pretty rude (left our party of sixteen three times while we were trying to order). Still, the food was pretty darned good. Duck Bao and Three Cups Chicken were delish.

I love it here, my family has been coming here for years. They have the best sesame noodles I've ever had, which is saying something! Their sesame chicken is absolutely perfectly crunchy. The hot and sour soup is only served on weekends, but definitely try it if you have the chance. Also, the ice cream is amazing, and you can't NOT get hot fudge on top.

Always love the food and the service in this place. Some of the best Chinese food around. Ice cream is tops as well. Worth the trip.

We enjoy going out. Yesterday we found this superb place which friends told us about. We passed a delightful experience there with delicious food and a courteous team and a distinguished chef. We put this fine restaurant in our phone list and we shall surely come back soon. We highly recommend.

Big portions, good food, and fast service

I took my kids there for dessert and was very disappointed. The dessert we had was poorly presented. The hot fudge wasn't hot and collected in the corner of the bowl and the malt powder was sprinkled in one little spot. The ice cream tasted fine but as a dessert it wasn't worth the price. I used to take my kids there years ago and I remember the desserts to be much better than what we had on our last visit.

Baumgart’s Cafe has been a neighborhood institution for over 20 years. They have an eclectic menu with something for everyone. While Chinese food is the staple of their menu, they also serve Japanese and Thai dishes as well as their signature homemade ice cream. If you’re not in the mood for Asian cuisine, they also offer salads, sandwiches and burgers. The atmosphere is cheerful and the staff is friendly. A great place for family dining, take out, or delivery.

The best of all the Baumgarts locations by far. The most family friendly place in town. The quality of the Chinese food here is much better than at most other places you have been to. They also have a nice selection of sushi and some Thai choices as well as traditional things like burgers, dogs, and sandwiches. Great variety to suit mixed tastes. Good ice cream for dessert as well.

Came here for lunch with a friend, and we both enjoyed our meal. We ordered Shrimp Scampi and the Sante Fe. We had a question about one of the dishes and our waiter asked another gentleman to come help us. We didn't have to wait very long and our meals were served piping hot. We both asked for coffee and that was steaming hot as well. I decided to get the baked apple crisp for dessert. It tasted good, very sweet, but my only complaint is that it wasn't warm throughout. Some bites of it were cold while others were warm. Other than that, service was good and we had a nice time here.

Delivered food last night during the horrible storm to fulfill an order I had placed earlier for another family. I never thought the food would be delivered but they understood the situation and fulfilled the order despite the terrible road conditions. I am so grateful. Food is always delicious and now I am forever a patron.

There is something irresistibly attractive about a restaurant which is part Chinese food, diner and desert shop! I love coming here and typically find myself sitting down on a Sunday afternoon. The service is great and I enjoy the variety of choices on the menu. Baumgart's is also a family friendly place. And it is also good choice for large parties.

Mediocre Chinese food. Take out places in the area do a better job. I would give them one 🌟 for service. Not a good experience over all. You feel like you owe them something.

Food was excellent and the atmosphere is retro chic. Mango chicken was perfect. First time here definitely coming back.

I went here with my son on Mothers day for dinner. They werent full at all and had a few hosts doing busy work in the front area yet nobody willing to seat us! We were standing there for over 10 min. with not so much as a glance and I tried saying hello and got completely IGNORED. This other family walked in and they suddenly became all animated and seated them! We had to leave after them being so rude. By the way, the place smelled like a school cafeteria not like any kind of place with delicious food. Gross...They choose favorites and were very nasty when I called them to say what happened.

I actually enjoyed the food and customer service, awesome area to my apartment. The employees are always super friendly. I highly recommend this place.

I have been eating here for 20+ years. The food and service have both declined steadily and instead of eating here at least once weekly, we dine here 4-5 times a year.I called to order dinner tonight, having already ordered 5 dishes and planning to continue an order that would come to around $120.I asked for extra house dressing on the side for the Baumgarts Salad ($9). I was told there would be an extra charge for additional dressing.I cancelled the order after I asked him to confirm that. He gave me a few different stories about how they only provide 1/2 tiny dressing container (perhaps half of a 2oz container), but the would fill it up without charging extra.Then said it’s house policy. Except for 20+ years they always provided extra dressing.This is not the Baumgarts we knew and used to love.And we won’t return.All for 1-2 oz of vinagrette dressing.

Had a fantastic experience in here with my son. The food was served fast and the service is just excellent. Prices are fair.

I very much liked the food and service, awesome location nearby to my residence. The employees are always welcoming. Will come visit again.
